Connecting Students with World-Class Musicians
Jazz Mentors Foundation brings world-class musicians to Utah for free concert-day clinics designed for students and music educators. Clinics are free for students with ID and are typically held at 4:30 PM before the evening concert.
Each clinic is led by the guest artists, so every session offers something different. Students may take part in Q&As, one-on-one mentoring, jam sessions, performance demonstrations, and conversations about creativity, technique, and life as a professional musician.
The experience often continues into the evening, with local student jazz ensembles performing in the lobby before the concert. These clinics give young musicians a rare chance to learn, connect, and be inspired by world-class jazz artists in a welcoming, hands-on setting.

Who Can Participate
Student clinics are open to Utah music students, student ensembles, and music educators. Students attend free with a valid student ID, and educators are welcome to join, observe, and bring ideas back to their classrooms.

I can’t say enough good things about the Jazz Mentor’s program. My 14 year old son plays Jazz Piano and Bassoon. This Mentors program has been mind blowing for him to see this whole new world of professional Jazz musicians. He’s even been inspired to bring his Bassoon into the Jazz world. The Mentors program has such incredible and talented Jazz musicians and that come and teach our Utah kids. These are top notch musicians in the industry. The fact that this kind of talent is interested in coming to teach our kids is so very exciting. The kids love the energy and learning about so many different styles of Jazz. The students are able to get specialized hands on training at the clinics and then get to see their amazing concerts. My son has been to every single clinic and concert so far. He loves it so much that he’s encouraging his all his band friends to come. The artists that come are completely invested in teaching the kids. They want to see them thrive and succeed. The musicians share so much knowledge with the kids, things that the kids most likely wouldn’t be able to learn at a local level. They even let the kids play on stage with them. The Mentors program brings such a new excitement for Jazz! The concerts are unbelievable!!! Sometimes we bring the whole family. We didn’t know Jazz could be this exciting and fun! It’s a breath of fresh air to highlight this genre of music that can be so powerful and positive in our kids lives. It’s truly a game changer for our kids and the Utah Jazz industry. And, on top of all that… it’s completely free for students. It’s just a matter of time until the secret is out about how amazing the Jazz Mentor’s program is.
